With a population of approximately 123,500, Kelowna is the largest city in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Bordering Okanagan Lake, Kelowna is well known for its hot summers and temperate winters. 

Kelowna is one of the most liveable cities in Canada. In the recent Canada Pulse survey, 90% of residents reported "My city is a great place to live." Kelowna is an amazing place to call home, with all the amenities of a city but with a small town feel, numerous recreational options, and the perfect climate.

 

The City of Kelowna examines the current trends from four key areas: our people, our homes, our economy and our environment.  Examining demographic and social data, the trends depicted in this report illustrate Kelowna's successes, as well as existing and future challenges facing the city.  By monitoring these trends, the City of Kelowna will be well positioned in future years to proactively address emerging issues and dedicate its human, financial and technological resources to key programs, policy initiatives and services.

The population growth, the economy expansion and active housing market  make Kelowna the desired place to live.   Residents felt that their quality of life had improved and they felt optimistic about their futures in Kelowna.  Increased civic engagement and a declining crime rate further contributed to this favourable outlook.
